Snakes have quite complicated and varied symbolism, depending on personal experience. How is it moving, is it threatening? How many snakes? Snakes like on the medical emblem, can signal an especially healing dream. Since snakes are found in dark places and water, dream about snakes can represent magical forces, our own primal energies or instincts, as the personification of the unconscious.
In mythology snake with the tree can represent process of becoming conscious. The snake swallowing itself, is related to cycle, the wheel, the Great Mother archetype.
Snakes can be temptation about some situation in the waking life. Snakes can represent renewal or resurrection since they shed their skin.
For a woman to dream that a dead snake is biting her, foretells she will suffer from malice of a pretended friend.
To dream of snakes, is a foreboding of evil in its various forms and stages.
To see them wriggling and falling over others, foretells struggles with fortune and remorse.
To kill them, you will feel that you have used every opportunity of advancing your own interests, or respecting that of others. You will enjoy victory over enemies.
To walk over them, you will live in constant fear of sickness, and selfish persons will seek to usurp your place in your companion’s life.
If they bite you, you will succumb to evil influences, and enemies will injure your business.
To dream that a common spotted snake approaches you from green herbs, and you quickly step aside as it passes you, and after you had forgotten the incident to again see it approaching and growing in dimensions as it nears you, finally taking on the form of an enormous serpent; if you then, after frantic efforts, succeed in escaping its attack, and altogether lose sight of it, it foretells that you will soon imagine you are being disobeyed and slighted, and things will go on from bad to worse. Sickness, uneasiness and unkindness will increase to frightful proportions in your mind; but they will adjust themselves to a normal basis, and by the putting aside of imaginary trouble, and masterfully shouldering duties, you will be contented and repaid.
To dream that a snake coils itself around you and darts its tongue out at you, is a sign that you will be placed in a position where you will be powerless in the hands of enemies, and you will be attacked with sickness.
To handle them, you will use strategy to aid in overthrowing opposition.
To see hairs turn into snakes, foretells that seeming insignificant incidents will make distressing cares for you.
If snakes turn into unnatural shapes, you will have troubles which will be dispelled if treated with indifference, calmness and will power.
To see or step on snakes while wading or bathing, denotes that there will be trouble where unalloyed pleasure was anticipated.
To see them bite others, foretells that some friend will be injured and criticised by you.
To see little snakes, denotes you will entertain persons with friendly hospitality who will secretly defame you and work to overthrow your growing prospects.
To see children playing with them, is a sign that you will be nonplussed to distinguish your friends from your enemies. For a woman to think a child places one on the back of her head, and she hears the snake’s hisses, foretells that she will be persuaded to yield up some possession seemingly for her good, but she will find out later that she has been inveigled into an intrigue in which enemies will tantalize her. To see snakes raising up their heads in a path just behind your friend, denotes that you will discover a conspiracy which has been formed to injure your friend and also yourself. To think your friend has them under control, denotes that some powerful agency will be employed in your favor to ward off evil influences.
For a woman to hypnotize a snake, denotes your rights will be assailed, but you will be protected by law and influential friends.

Last night I had a black snake in my dream. I was standing in a tree to save myself from some other animals… But I didn’t notice the snake which was already there in the tree. It tried twice to bite me… The second time it bit my left hand….. It was an awful feeling…

I had this dream of this black snake that was on the ground at the foot of my bed coiled up in like an attack mode with its eyes set on me and I was just watching it and was too close it struck twice and bit my hand or arm the second time and I somehow got ahold of it with my good hand and had it by its head and ran to find my dad for help. My dad didn’t come to take the snake from me he was scared to do anything he wouldn’t even help but he had a friend that stepped up and took the snake from me and that’s when I woke up. What does this mean?

I had a dream in which I was walking and noticed a yellow big snake. I made a run for it but when I turned around I saw the snake in front of me with his mouth all covered with something clear. Even though the snake’s mouth was covered it still bit me.

I dreamed of two black snakes. I skinned them, one dead the other still alive and moving. I asked two men why that one snake was still alive, and they said to watch out for the snake’s teeth.

I had a dream that my throat was slit open, about 2 inches and 2 skinny black slimy snakes came out of my throat whenever; one longer than the other alternating. I was afraid to swallow because I don’t want the snakes to go to my stomach. I was also told to take an x-ray of my body but I was scared that I might see the shapes of snakes all through my body thru the x-ray. Then I woke up. I don’t know what this means…

I’m just confused, the snake in the picture up there on this page was in my dream. I saw him at a beach and I threw rocks/pebbles at him. Then he chased after my mom and never went after me, though. Then my dog bit him.

In my dream my boyfriend and I went to a sort of group home for adults to see a friend of his. When we arrived, my brother for some reason, pulled in behind us, with his family in his truck. He got out, smiled, said something that I am unable to remember and left. Now the home that we were visiting was a strange place - the only male living there it seemed was my boyfriends friend, and the atmosphere was cold, with zero life. There was no music to be played, no-one was allowed to sing, or do anything that represented life and being alive. Anyway we went inside to the friends room, a small room, very little furniture, and after a few minutes I got bored and decided to go outside.
When I got outside I thought, “I am going to sing”, and began to hum out loud. As I began to sing I looked to my left and noticed three pillars with three medium sized black snakes, red spots, sitting on top of them. The snakes descended to the ground and began to follow me, so I climbed on top of a mound of dirt and as they were ascending toward me I pulled a sword form my pocket and sliced off the snakes’ heads, then I woke up.
Can someone tell me what they believe this dream can mean? thx

I don’t think I’ve ever dreamed of snakes before - I don’t have much interest in them. Last night, however, I had a very vivid dream in which I ate a snake and I specifically remember having to pull large, bitter tasting chunks out of my teeth. I have weird dreams quite often, but this one just seemed extra bizarre.

I dreamt of beautiful rainbow coloured snakes who needed t get into water and without which, they were dying. I was at a beach and I was scared of them, but nonetheless, I picked up one and dropped it back into the sea whereby, it swam off happily…the second one, I could not catch, so I covered it with wet sand and it made itself a neat burrow. (I wonder what could this dream mean) !!

I had a dream about a really fat blue snake coming up from underground. The setting was nighttime and there was a party going on with drinking and drugs. Family members were there, including the dogs. So everybody notices the blue snake and just gathers around it. It opens it’s mouth, but no one’s scared, just very interested in it.

I had a dream about a coral snake floating away from me. I had a tortoise baby turtle in my hands. It jumped out of my hands and the coral snake bit it on the leg. I was so sad about it, I cried and cried.

My dream was terrible. I can’t remember the first bits but it was all very confusing. Then towards the end my cousin manipulated a stick quickly under a building that in my dream was where I stayed.
Out came a snake when she moved the stick. I held in my arms my daughter of 4 months. This snake was shortish but fat. It was a cobra so was new in my dream. The snake was spitting and hissing and seemed set on getting myself and my baby.
My cousin was trying to hit it away with a stick but this snake wasn’t having it. I ran with my child in my arms but I was too slow. So I pulled myself up onto a large window ledge. I placed my baby on my lap in between my arms so she was out of the snake’s view, as my logic was that the snake would see me and bite me.
I closed my eyes bracing myself for the searing pain which would surely come with the bite and thought of all the things I’d miss when the venom kills me, breaking my heart to think I wouldn’t see my little girl grow up. It took a little longer than I had expected so with hope in my heart I opened my eyes and found the snake had some how come across my lap and had bitten my daughter square in the face. It was hanging off her cheek.
I can not tell you the sick feeling a felt and the pure rage. I pulled the snake’s mouth back so as not to rip my little girls face. I pulled the snake off her and was holding it. I was screaming for my husband, begging him to suck out the poison quickly while I have the snake in hand.
The whole time I couldn’t see my daughter’s face. From the time I opened my eyes to discover the snake on her cheek I only saw the side of her face. She didn’t move or make a sound.

I had a dream that I was being confronted by a cobra, I seized him by the neck and he kept trying to bite me, his fangs did scratch my skin and I could see the venom pumping through his fangs but he was unable to puncture my skin. After several attempts of him trying to bite me I flung him out of sight.

I had a dream last night there was a colorful snake that starts from small snake and grows to be a very long snake. I don’t know if it’s chasing me, but I remember the snake crawling around my body and in my side.. I also remember seeing my cousin in my dream. I ask her to hold the snake in her hand…

I had a dream that I was with my stepsisters and we had had a massive fight. I was feeling really sad, but they were fine. Then one of my stepsisters gave me a box with about 4 snakes that looked like they were dead in it. So for some reason, still feeling sad and crying, I threw the box up in the air and thousands of snakes fell out. Lots were wrapped around me and I was laying on others. I was terrified and my stepsister got them all off of me by picking them up by their heads with tweezers.
We packed all the snakes away in the box again and I was talking to someone I dldn’t recognize about them. I threw them up again and the same thing happened, only this time, before my stepsister could get them off with tweezers, some of the snakes bit me. But I wasn’t as terrified as I was the first time. They were all little snakes in different bright colours, and the bites didn’t really hurt - only a little bit.
I really need help finding out what this dream means.

Had a dream that I was at work and I went to the box where we keep work and there was a dead snake in the box. The skin was there but the insides of the snake was missing. Afterward, I was walking and a flat snake crawled up my pants leg. I though it bit me but when I went to the doctor I was told it did not. When the snake went up my pant leg I was able to grab it and hold onto it until I got to the doctor’s office.
In my dream when I was given my pants back I noticed that my pants had been pressed and looked new. Can anyone tell me what this means? I am so confused.

I’ve had many snake dreams so heres one:
I was in my backyard during the daytime, and I was with a little girl (did not recognize who she was) she had blonde hair, medium length. She had went into my neighbors yard and I went to go follow her through the gate of the fenced in yard. Then all of a sudden a dark colored snake came out of the ground and wrapped around my leg and curled around my left arm. I used my right hand and squeezed his head furiously and screamed at it him, stunning the snake, I through him into the air far away from me and the little girl. We ran back into my backyard and as we did the fence started turning into little marching spiders, then spiders and snakes started coming up through the ground in my neighbors yard. That’s when I woke up.
The 2nd one I’ve dreamed of had me near the ocean, a place where me and my family used to go fishing at. There were rocks in the water I would step on. In my dream, hundreds of snakes would come up to me as each wave came crashing in, surrounding my legs. One snake actually bit me, but I felt no pain, I did not react to it at all. That’s when I woke up.
The 3rd one, I was standing on the porch at my house, and I saw a huge (maybe about the size of a large dog) yellow snake eating a smaller snake. The snake finished eating and then set his eyes on me. I ran back into the house and the snake kept trying to knock the door down. Eventually someone killed it, I don’t remember who, but we plopped its dead body onto the kitchen table and the other little snake he had eaten came out of his mouth, along with a lot of other snakes. That’s when I woke up from that dream.

I saw a yellow snake which was coming near my 2 year old son and then I shouted, “snake, snake!” Neighbours came around and one of the men killed the snake by crushing the head with a sharp object. The next morning was my son’s birthday and I had this dream in the early morning of his birthday.

I had a dream I was outside on my patio, even though it wasn’t one I had seen before and I kept hearing a slight scraping/sliding sound. I had a feeling it was a snake but couldn’t see it yet because there were potted plants in the way. Suddenly I saw it come out from between two pots and got very scared because it seemed very aggressive towards me. I climbed up on top of the table I was sitting at and it started to come towards me with it’s mouth open. The whole time there was a loud humming/scraping/hissing sound with it. My male cat started to stalk it and distract it and the snake lunged at him a couple of times, then my litle female got into it but seemed more like she was playing with it and I think she got bitten on the head. More concerned about my cat, I got down and carefully picked my cat up to bring her inside where I saw my ex-husband just sitting there. I yelled at him for letting the cats out and that there was a big black snake out there trying to attack everything. That’s when i woke up.

I was in a dark place and on a hill there were a lot of snakes around, spotted and possibly rattle snakes. I fell and was bitten in the back by many snakes. Then I was being helped by people but was in fear of death. Then I woke up in a very bad mood.

My dream was just me in my living room. I walked towards the kitchen and
there was a big rattlesnake and it was trying to attack and bite me. I was
backing up with every strike the snake threw at me! So, I grabbed my hockey
stick that was beside the dining room table and started hitting it with the back
end of my hockey stick! It was hit and miss so I flipped the stick around and I
cut of its head with the blade of the hockey stick. Then I was just staring at
the dead snake in my living room for some time. Then my dad came out of nowhere
and saw me just looking at this dead rattlesnake in my living room. And he
grabbed the dead snake and he cooked it and we ate the rattlesnake… Then I woke up from my sleep.

Last night I dreamed of a long spiky black snake. It was trying to bite everyone it came across. I was in a hole in the wall store that carried mystical stones and potions and there were random people in the store with me. They knew of the snake roaming the store freely, but they all acted as if they were powerless to capture it. The snake could pop up anywhere and strike.
So I was watching a woman defending herself against an attack by the snake. She sat at a table and the snake was on the table raised up and striking at her. She just kept blocking it with a pencil in the mouth of the snake. At that moment I felt bad for the snake and I don’t know why, but I thought the woman should treat the snake better than that.
As soon as I thought it, the snake leaped from the table and tangled itself into my hair and climbed up into my head through my eye sockets giving me an uncomfortable feeling but not painful. It sucked in its spikes and wrapped itself around my brain Then it whispered to me that if I didn’t take care of him and do everything he asks he would squeeze my brain till it popped. I was so frightened that I promised I would, and begged him not to kill me. The snake quickly unwrapped itself from my brain and I could feel the soothing feeling as the snake left through my eyes sockets. Then it went back to taking strikes at the woman at the table.

I dreamed that I was in the woods and found myself surrounded by a ring of worm-like snakes that were partially buried underground. I was uncertain as to whether or not I was safe in the center of the ring, so I reacted on instinct and gingerly made my way through the snakes to get to real safety. Although it was more risky to walk through the snakes than maybe to have just stayed put, the other side offered more long-term safety. Being inside the ring didn’t offer any immediate harm to me, but my instincts said harm could be pending.

In the city riding bus to work, now at the office working on papers and the scene switches. I am walking home from work, grasslands, blue skies and sunshine. Ahead I see a weird shape like a cloud, black like the a clear night sky, I immediately put a hard crazy face on for defense as I walk by and a young childlike face pops up and says “hello”, the face is pretty, brown skin, light eyes with black hair in braids or twists? I say hello and pass by kept walking, walk walk all of the sudden I am facing a ditch like hill with a path previously made to climb out. I begin to climb and the dirt/sand begins slide back down. I said “how am I going to get out “if I pack the dirt/sand like steps then I can get up and out. I looked to my left and see a huge snake which begins to charge at me quickly. I was afraid and knew I had seconds; I grabbed the dirt/sand made like snowballs and threw two, then left the dream quickly.

I dreamed that I was in a house that was my house but it looked like it belonged to a poor person. Then, I saw a bunch of little snakes. After that the snakes turned huge and when I walked to the hallway I saw that a snake had eaten my turtle (even though I don’t really have one) and the turtle was at the end of it’s tail standing up and attempting to walk. My mom came and told me that the turtle was going to die because of the snake’s acid. Then, at the end of the hallway I saw two snakes that were coiled around each other. When I turned around I saw a huge red snake slithering towards me. But for some reason I wasn’t scared. It bit me om my right arm a few inches above my hand. It wasn’t venomous but I remember seeing on Animal Planet how some snakes have teeth that hook inwards and it would be hard to rip them off your self. I kept checking it’s mouth and the teeth weren’t hooked so i pulled it off easily. Please tell me what this means.
P.S. Before I fell asleep I was crying because my friend informed me that she was moving.

I had a dream that I was in school and it had a river near by. It was the last day, so we usually have a celebration. Suddenly a huge green serpent appeared, like really huge! It was like the size of a small two story school. In a flash it bit me and left, and I looked at my hand but the bite mark wasn’t there. When I was on my way home, I was bitten again by the same serpent. It kept following me everywhere I went, but then I woke up. My grandma says this dream means that there is someone who likes me. But I’m not quite sure. This is also the first time I have dreamed about this. Hopefully I won’t have this same dream again. It is scary.
BTW: the hand that I was bitten on, a week back I sprained it. Could it help? Does it also mean that my hand will heal?

I dreamt I and someone else (never did see the face -it was more like a dark figure) was walking in a park which had a pond with clear sparkling water. As we walked on the pond’s edge and crossed over boards to the other side I began to see snakes swimming under water and especially a long brown snake with large scales and a huge head. The snake was swimming rapidly under water following me as I continued to walk. At one point I saw small wings/arms extend from its head. It never attempted to strike nor hissed but somehow it was menacing. In the middle of the pond was a tiny snake with its body extended and tail curled up and holding its head above water. I woke up at this point.

I had a dream I was near water and many many snakes would pop out at me and begin to hiss, threateningly. I had a dream of walking barefoot on the sand beach As I stepped onto the deck leaving the sand beach behind I “lift up” to the deck and looked down into the ocean water just to see many snakes swimming in the clear to sandy waters. Someone- a lady - dropped a big snake gently between those other snakes for a bath. Big snake was feeling happy for getting to swim! What does that mean?

I had a dream I was riding a bike when a rattle snake in the road lunged at me. Slithered around my body under my shirt until it coiled around my neck. Sqeezing tighter and tighter. I was with people I did not know them but they seemed like friends. After awhile they all wanted to leave me there with the snake aroung my neck. I was scared and didnt want them to go. Until another smaller snake came out of the bushes. I jumped, then the rattle snake un-coiled and left. At that point I woke up.

I always dream about snakes. Different shapes, different sizes and I’m always scared. Once a snake bit me, most of the times they just come around me or my house and scare me to death - its like I can’t run or do anything but just sit there and watch. It’s an awful feeling. They are gigantic.
