Dream Symbol: Mask, Masks

Our person or facade; a temporary identity you would like to try on; an inability to show, or lack of recognition of, your true or inner self; a need to hide some aspect of yourself. During pre-Lenten European or South American festivals, masks are often used to boldy portray shadow aspects, thereby allowing us to express socially what would otherwise not be acceptable.

In Bali, as in many other countries, masks or dancers are blessed before a performance. Once the dancer are blessed before a performance. Once the dancer dons the mask, the corresponding spirit is considered to have entered him or her and will, of course, influence the performance, reflecting intimate contact with divine intervention or inspiration.
