An opening or entryway, and therefore, entry into a new stage or way of life; the threshold between conscious or unconscious material. If you are able to open the gate and enter, it suggests readiness and success, perhaps the end of a crisis time. If you have difficulty opening it, where are you stuck? If the gate is barred, it suggests that you are being denied access to whatever is on the other side (freedom)?
How are you restricitng yourself? A rusted gate may symbolize resources within yourself that you have not drawn upon for a long time.

When I meditate I see a symbol. Sometimes that symbol is on an old red wall and it feels like it is under ground. There are torches on both sides of the symbol. But sometimes there’s no wall but a massive gate. A beautiful gate locked with that same symbol. I’ve tried to find out what the symbol is using the internet but to no avail. It is an A with a line going vertically down the middle. Im not afraid to go near the wall but when it is the gate i dare not go near it for fear. I wish i can find the meaning of that symbol so i can understand why i am seeing it.

I have had many dreams with doors running down a corridor yet I can’t seem to go through any of them… I have not dreamed this in awhile but it is something I still think of.
